Milestones is my "pinch me, I'm dreaming" page.

I added Hit Box, a  web site traffic counter, to Duck Tales and  I have been utterly amazed and fascinated by the results.

Over the past year, I have been absolutely thrilled to receive e-mails and Guest Book messages from all over the United States and from such far away places as Canada, China, England, Italy and New Zealand. Now, because of my new traffic counter, I realize that what excited me so was just the tip of the iceberg. Imagine my sheer surprise and immense pleasure when I learned that I have visitors from almost every country in the world!

Moreover, while perusing the statistics, I noticed that very many of the domains accessing Duck Tales are education related and after some investigation on my part, I learned that Duck Tales has been added to the Excite Education Guide under "Bird Species A - Z". Also, my Muscovy Ducks Web Page has been listed on "Yahooligans!" under science, nature, wildlife, birds and ducks. And, in addition, my Geese, Muscovy Ducks and Pekin Ducks Web Pages appear in About.com's The Fledgling Corner - Birding For Kids, under the
Alphabetical Index of the Birds of the World.

One mystery I have yet to solve. Around midnight on April 26, 2001, fifty different computers at Boeing.com simultaneously accessed Duck Tales. Although I think Duck Tales has turned out to be pretty enjoyable, I can hardly imagine fifty Boeing employees stopping work to read Duck Tales!!! Does it have anything to do with Boeing's new internet-access-in-the-sky program, Connexion? Are people flying over the Atlantic Ocean reading Duck Tales? Does anyone out there know?

In late May, I received an e-mail from Stacy Smith asking me to contribute a chapter based upon my opossum story, to a book she is editing entitled "In the Eyes of the Wild: An Anthology of Wildlife Poetry and Short Stories". She is not only self-publishing the book but she is also donating all of the royalties to her favorite wildlife charity, Wildlife Forever. In September 2000, Stacy self-published another book called "Reflections In Nature". You can take a sneak peek at my story, "One Brief Moment In Time ...". I hope that you enjoy it!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the wonderful stories and poems which were contributed by wildlife lovers like me.

Gardeners' Supply Catalog - one of my very favorite gardening catalogs - loved duck tales and decided to do a gardeners' "Success Story" on me and my ducks entitled Gardening With Wildlife: How One Gardener Makes It Work

December 2003

Ducktales has been included in "Web Sites On Birds For Teachers", an educational site that lists all sorts of wonderful birding sites for students ... such as Audubon, Cornell, government sponsored, etc. ... Of course, they were rated "excellent" while Ducktales was rated "good" ... Their description: "A site from a family on Long Island with year-round bird "residents". Includes very good information on different species. A good site for primary students. Good"  ... but I was ecstatic to be in such illustrious company!
